It is deliberately separate from Privacy Policy. The law asks for a standalone, itemised notice, not a clause inside a longer document.
Who is asking
In Five Lines is the data fiduciary. Contact: rohan@infivelines.com.
Postal address: Pune, Maharashtra, India.
What we are asking for, item by item
| Personal data | The specific purpose |
|---|---|
| Email address | To create and identify your account, to sign you in, to send you a confirmation link, and to let you reset a forgotten password |
| Display name (optional) | To address you by name in the interface. You may leave it blank and the account works identically |
| Password, stored only as a cryptographic hash | To verify it is you when you sign in |
| Account timestamps: created, confirmed, last signed in | To operate the account and to detect abuse of the sign-in system |
That is the complete list of what an account collects. Nothing here is used for advertising, for profiling, or for any purpose beyond the one named beside it.
What this notice does not cover, because we never receive it
Your reading progress (which cards you have read, which tests you took and what you scored) is stored in your browser and is never transmitted to us. It is not part of this consent because there is nothing for you to consent to: we do not have it.
Your rights, and how to use them
- Access: ask what we hold about you: email rohan@infivelines.com
- Correction: ask us to fix anything wrong or out of date: email rohan@infivelines.com
- Erasure: ask us to delete your account and its data: email rohan@infivelines.com from the account's address. Done within 30 days
- Withdraw this consent at any time, and as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing consent closes the account. You keep the entire free course, which needs no account at all
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated: email rohan@infivelines.com
If you are unhappy
Raise it with our Grievance Officer first: In Five Lines, rohan@infivelines.com. We acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days. Full detail at Contact and Grievance Redressal.
If we do not resolve it, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Age
You must be 18 or over to give this consent. The Act treats everyone under 18 as a child and requires verifiable parental consent, which we do not currently collect, so we do not create accounts for under-18 readers. The course itself is free and open to everyone, no account required.
Language
This notice is published in English. If you would prefer it in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India, email rohan@infivelines.com and we will provide it.
